Gregory Clapp. Mr. Clapp is a founder, accomplished insurance executive and former senior investment banker. He has served the insurance industry for 30 years. Mr. Clapp provides financial consulting services to the insurance industry at Wood Canoe Partners.
He co-founded and led FC Capital Partners, where he established three successful MGAs/program managers (Grand River Insurance, Stone Falls and Bridge Excess Solutions) and a claims services unit (Grand River Services).
Mr. Clapp is a veteran of insurance practices at Wall Street investment banking firms. He was a managing director and worked at J.P. Morgan Chase, where he began his career, for 18 years. There he worked in debt restructuring and leveraged finance in New York and London, before joining the global insurance investment banking practice in 1993 where he founded the team focused on financial sponsors and the middle market in the insurance industry. Mr. Clapp went on to lead the insurance investment banking practices at financial institutions specialist firms Sandler, O'Neill & Partners, Fox-Pitt, Kelton and Collins Capital Advisors, which he established on behalf of the reinsurance broker, Collins.
Mr. Clapp holds a bachelor's degree from Williams College and also studied at the London School of Economics and is a registered principal.
